Lee. Rosie, Weston. Anita, Sharp. Alice, Oldham. Tim.

Since its launch in 2004, The Starchy Gallery, South London blah blah blah blah witnessed the rise of celebrity potatoes blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah, and its significance in British culture today. Whilst blah blah blah, and blah epitomised by the Starchy Gallery in Dulwich, blah blah blah, blah blah social upheaval blah blah blah analysis. Naturally, blah blah blah blah blah blah leaves us wondering whether the concept of celebrity has finally had its chips?

A quiet London suburb, such as Dulwich, is hardly the place one would expect blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah blah! Sunday 27th January 2005 saw the second annual celebrity potato competition blah blah blah, blah blah blah and blah. The Starchy Gallery, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah although blah blah blah blah. Its unprecedented success has left social commentators asking blah blah blah blah-di blah? Since then, blah blah blah blah blah, and blah blah blah is a topic of hot debate. Recent works, blah blah blah blah blah ’Celebrity Potatoes and their relationship to blah blah blah blah blah ’(Goffman et al, 2004) and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, ‘A Multi centred randomised controlled trial of celebrity potatoes and their interaction with blah blah blah blah blah.’ (Dr Fox, 2004) whilst blah blah blah blah blah blah ‘Potatoes and Fame – A Review of Recent Literature (Caprice, et al. 2005).

History
Early man has long been known to blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, through vegetable worship and potato sacrifice. Some believe blah blah blah blah blah blah blah contributed to the demise of the dinosaurs (Ant and Dec, 2005). Experts in the field blah blah blah blah blah blah bla, whilst archeological finds have provided evidence of rudimentary potato peeling tools blah blah blah blah blah in parts of Somerset. Blah blah blah blah blah and cave paintings in France have shown us blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah (see Fig 1).

Gossip and the Rise of Celebrity
The social history of gossip blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah concept of celebrity relies upon personages known to all. Gossip blah blah blah blah blah blah cohesion of the community blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah without gossip, there can be no celebrity, for the one is fuel for the other, and vice versa.

In the middle ages, gossip blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. In Renaissance Florence for example, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah corruption of the church blah blah blah blah monks and priests were a common source blah blah blah blah gained knowledge through taking confession, so much so, Dante blah blah blah blah blah bla blah blah. Unlike blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah usually charged a fee for the release of information.

In fact blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah have long disputed the origins of gossip blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and the derivation of the word gossip blah blah blah blah blah. Some claim blah blah blah blah elderly Plymouth spinster, Elsie Goss blah blah blah blah blah neighbours said that she ‘knewe everything about a bodie’. In 1631 blah blah blah blah blah blah condemned of witchcraft blah blah blah blah later drowned in a pond. Perhaps blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Others believe blah blah blah blah blah blah 18th century coffee and teahouses of London blah blah blah blah blah blah. Whether or not blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah what Dr Johnson termed as ‘tattle’ blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

In the 20th century, gossip blah blah blah blah blah blah explosion blah blah blah blah blah thanks to a development in technology. Suddenly information blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, with telephonists and switchboard operators blah blah blah blah blah the culprits. Although blah blah blah blah blah blah TV and Radio, and now camera phones blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and of course, the birth of ‘Hello’ magazine.

Early research into gossip and blah blah blah has shown blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. Freud maintained blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, whilst Jung blah blah blah over half of all men blah blah blah blah blah and a staggering 65% of women of child-bearing age blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, although blah blah blah blah could account for this. In the 1960s blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah extensive research blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah and the concept of gossip. Furthermore blah blah blah blah blah archived material blah blah blah blah blah. Then, as now, blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah questionnaires, blah blah blah blah blah of those interviewed blah blah blah blah blah T-test blah blah blah blah was found to be significantly more blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah (p=0.001). Whilst no one knows for sure blah blah blah blah blah two schools of thought blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah scientific community blah blah blah schism blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah complicated further blah blah blah blah blah, or is this, as some claim, a load of old botox?

Discussion
Democracy has played a large part blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah of the Starchy Gallery and blah blah blah blah blah. Never before has the voting public blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah on such a scale. Since 2004 blah blah blah blah seen a rise in potato awareness and blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah surge in voting overall. Remarkably, blah blah blah blah renewed faith in the democratic process blah blah blah blah blah blah blah with unprecedented numbers turning out to vote. With an election on the cards blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah new power to the voting voice of the British people blah blah blah blah blah blah the Starchy Gallery blah blah blah blah rumoured blah blah blah for a Nobel Prize.

Clearly from an esoteric point of view, didactic interaction blah blah blah potato blah blah blah. Parkinson would be an obvious, some say essential, evolutionary step blah blah blah blah blah blah Emma Bunton. Other philosophical schools have not left this uncommented upon. Critically Foucault’s basis blah blah blah ‘Panopticon’ was drawn from this very factor. ‘Celebrity’ per se blah blah blah blah blah blah blah ‘surveillance which would be both global and individualising’ (Foucault, 1980). More recently, Halliwell et al (2004) have built upon this theory blah blah blah blah blah with unequalled intellectualism.

Conclusion
Without doubt, both social commentators and blah blah blah blah blah have been uniform in their panegyric blah blah blah blah blah celebrity potatoes.

Statistically (as shown in the graphs below) blah blah blah blah blah significance blah blah blah blah blah possibly as far reaching as the Catholic Church. Moreover, the growth blah blah blah blah blah root vegetable blah blah blah blah tabloids and society at large point to one resounding conclusion; blah blah has only just begun.
